Broadway Reconstruction Project Progress

Reconstruction of Broadway from NW 5th to SW 3rd, in the downtown area, is now underway. This project is the last of the five voter-approved bond projects. Voters approved this project in November of 2002. Major street work is underway at the present time.

Reconstruction of the street began at NW 5th and is proceeding south to SW 3rd. Full access to Central Middle School and Central Elementary is possible. Street crews are now in the 100 and 200 block of North Broadway. The southbound portion of Broadway is being lowered to help prevent drainage issues when the road is completed. New pavement has been laid, with sidewalks and curbs being built at the present time. A new storm sewer is being installed as well.

Crews, on October 20, removed the old pavement in the area just north of the Broadway & Main Street intersection. The project will resurface Broadway and install new curb and gutter. A signal will be added to the intersection of Main and Broadway. Also as a part of this project there will be landscape improvements and streetscape work done. When completed in about a year, the project will be a major improvement to the downtown area. Visit the City of Moore web site for more information on our great new rebirth of Old Town Moore.
